All horse and rider pairs will require current Horse Council British Columbia membership available for a reasonable annual fee (Tel: 604 856 4304 or Toll Free: 1 800 345 8055).  We also request vaccinations (5 way and Strangles) are current for the safety and comfort of others'  horses as well as yours.

At the Cariboo Rose, we aim to provide a great getaway for both people and horses alike. We have arranged our corrals, eight in total, in sets of two for companionship.

Back country and ranch trails can be rough so please ensure your mount is shod or booted appropriately as required.

RIDE AWARE!  You will be in the back country. Wildlife, range cattle and other hazards may present themselves. Always ride in pairs or groups,  and let someone know where you are going and your expected return.

The Cariboo Rose is surrounded by a wealth of historic and natural attractions.   Explore the local trails on foot or horseback. Opportunities for wildlife viewing, botanical studies and photography abound with resident poulations of moose, mule deer, lynx, cougar and bear in evidence.

Venture further afield to the Marble Mountain Range Provincial Park.  Established in 1995, the Park was named for its limestone topography so unusual in British Columbia.  The resulting soils are very high in calcium, providing a home for a number of rare plant species.  The Park is also home to a herd of California bighorn sheep.

Nearby Chasm Provincial Park was created in 1975 and provides protection for one of the northernmost stands of Ponderosa Pine trees. The geology of the valley with its shades of reds, browns, yellows and purples, resulting from the exposure  over millions of years by erosion of the underlyimg successive lava flows is dramatically beautiful.

Visit the town of Clinton to tour the Clinton Museum and browse the many antique and gift shops for treasures.

Fish for rainbow trout , swim ,canoe or kayak at nearby Big Bar Lake Provincial Park
